It's hard to say. In today's dollars I can see it going up at least a dollar more within two years. The thing about the base metals is that they are necessary for so much and can not be replaced. China, India and other countries are making the leap into the 21st century quickly and now they too want the things that we have. Sure, more metals will be mined, but not enough to keep up with demand. It's really not a great situation for the people of the world. But as with most things, it's the people who are thinking ahead will be the ones who will profit the most.
Base metal prices will rise and fall over the short term. But over the long term you can just about count on them moving in an upward direction.
The beauty of pennies and nickel is that you are "buying" them at their face value. At least for the time being.
