I made it into the bank vault today. Went to pick up coin as usual and the teller said to just come into the vault and start loading coin (pennies, nickels, and dimes - all they had). I guess their getting comfortable with me when they let me into the vault and exchange CWR bags that I counted on my machine for unsorted CWR coin.

T.O.

That's awesome! My WF branch let me walk back into the vault a few weeks ago and I considered it an accomplishment of trust as well :)

Los Angeles is the place I call home...

There's no way they'd let me back there. Lucky dogs!

I used to get in the vault all the time when my mom was the VP and can you believe this I had no interest in coin collecting until after she quit. Now I am in the same boat as you guys. It sucks to have the golden key in front of you and you don't even open the door with it. Another kid a little younger than me did though, my mom would let him sit in the vault all day in the summer and rummage through there coins. I talked with him the other day and asked him how collecting was going and I quote "I just finished my second Morgan dollar collection and have stated collecting draped and capped bust half dollars". I thought to myself I have to be one of the stupidest kids growing up, oh well I guess we all have a come to coin moment in our life, sucks mine had to be years later.

Well, I think back to the time when I was buying bottled soft drinks in the late 60's and early 70's - I wonder how much of what I spent was 90%? But they sure tasted good on a hot summer afternoon!

Yeah, vault access is nice. I'm allowed into two vaults regularly, and allowed into a third depending on who is working that day. Pretty cool.

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

I had vault access at one of the banks i frequent. Not really all that thrilled by it, most of the vaults are just 1 room, and the exciting stuff for me is the door. So i'm very content to just look in.
