Well, you certainly can't expect some things to happen. One day, I went to dump at a local bank with almost $25 in pennies - a rather normal to large amount for me. One of those Zinkies lodged itself in between the tray and the hole. Talk about an embarrassing moment. The tellers made three unsuccessful first tries, and were finally able to pry it out with a butter knife. Even though I did not do anything wrong, whenever I go back to dump at that bank, they'll recall the jammed penny incident. If you guys dump bigger loads than $25, then maybe something similar to this has happened with you?

Twice I've seen similar incidents at coin counters, although it was not me that caused it. Nevertheless, it was my face standing there when it was found.

I've really messed up a few to say the least. Butter knives, paper clips, and screwdrivers have been used. As well as the bottled compressed air. I don't worry about it. It is part of their job. Once they told me that my coins were to dirty. I told them I'd wash them, but it is against the law to launder money....

When I go to dump my halves, I always worry about a counting machine malfunction. There's a lot of money involved when you dump halves. So far, a few machines have had minor jams that the tellers have been able to rectify.

I just dumped this morning at the bank. I put my hand in the reject tray and there were 3 - 4 small gravels or cinders in there! I guess times are desperate that people will try to pass off small rocks for money! Good thing they had a bottle of hand sanitizer nearby. This was the same place I dumped last saturday and saw what appeared to be a token in the trash can - see "the one that got away" post.
