I was wondering if any of the hand sorters have been pulling any BU coins you get from sorting. I have always pulled these coins and decided to see what I got. I have a full roll of 66, 73, 75, 78, 81 and 82, along with a bunch of partial rolls and full roll Zincons. My thoughts were to put a full roll from each date (1959-20??)togather for my personal hording but was wondering if anyone else is doing this and having any luck selling them? Didn't know how good a single roll would do on feebay or if I should keep doing this until a have a full box then sell it that way. What are your thoughts and experiences.

| I roll up all BU zincolns from 82-2002, I have enough of 2003-present. Look on Ebay for pricing and you will see some of these can carry quite a premium, especially BU 82p small date zinc $50.00 a roll. |

I saved about $300.00 worth in airtight containers. That's all I need.
That is the Zincolns ($300.00). I do separate and keep all of the AU/BU/BR pre 1982. |

I'm a 'hand sorter' and part of the fun of this hobby ('hobby' to me, that is ) is to open a roll not knowing what might be found.
I've found some absolutely 'gem BU' specimens from 1959 to 1982. I also find a lot more gem BU specimens from 1983 to date. I don't keep near as many of the 2004-2009 because a lot of them show up, but I do pull and keep more Zincoln dates from before 2004.
I'm not doing this in order to 'sell', but rather to find key and semi-key date pennies, while building up a small 'stash' of copper pennies in case the price of copper skyrockets.
I've been lucky (I think) to find some very nice dates in the older wheaties ... beginning with some nice 1909 VDBs and on. However the truly 'key' dates such as the 14 D continue to elude me ... for the time being

| It took about a year, but I finally have a BU roll of each year and mintmark from 59-09. Now I only keep the BU 59-70 I run across in a container seperate from the general copper (which is less than 10 per box on average) and throw BU zincolns 83-99 in another bin. I am very picky about which zincolns I keep, I don't want to tie up to much money in zincolns and have kept it under $50 face total currently. |

| At one of my supply banks, I find many BU copper pennies from 1959-1964. I do not know where they came from, and I am positive that they have not been cleaned. They do not make up the entire roll, but are on average 10% to 15% each roll. |
