looking to buy some platinum soon, do these coins normally carry such high premiums?
100-200$ per ounce over spot at local precious metals dealers, i realize they stopped making them in 2000 and only started up again in 2009. could this be the main reason for such high premiums? i hate to see the premium prices come down in a year after buying.
although, if premiums come down significantly 2009 coins may hold a collectors value someday considering it was the first year re introduced? i dont know the mintage figures for 2009 if anyone knows where i can find that info i would greatly appreciate it.

Platinum coins such as these carry a stiff premium. Dealer BUY is spot+$50. I guess if you can get them at spot+$100, that would be a fair price. Too much premium for me. |
