Hi. Anyone know if blank planchets fetch anything $$ wise? I have pulled 2 so far while searching penny boxes. Both weigh in @ 2.5 grams, so I'm guessing they're zinc.

If real they should bring an extra dollar or two. |

Fun coins to keep...if you want to sell I think $1 each is about right. |

Yup, I have 3 blank zincs too. Coin dealer says they are worth about a dollar each. |

I found a Canadian penny that is blank on one side and has the queen's portrait on the other. |

If someone will give you a dollar for one, take it. There are a lot of fake blanks out there and most are worthless. If someone thinks yours is real and will pay a dollar, grab it fast. There is a scam going around with blanks of Copper, Tin, Zinc and anything that washers are made from. At some factories where washers are made, people also make thoes blanks, add to a roll of coin to be returned to a bank. |

If anyone has any copper or zinc coin blanks they want to sell a $1 I wouldn't mind having a few more. Also, the one sided coin fron Canada would be neat as well. Not sure what that would be worth? |

They had them for sale in most denominations at the FUN Show and I believe they were asking more than $1.00 for them. But, of course, they were having to recoup their high fees for being there selling and they do have to make a profit or they wouldn't be able to stay in business.
Haven't found any yet. That's really cool for those of you that have. I'll just have to keep on searching.

I had one years ago that I found on the street in Calgary.
I ended up selling it to a coin shop in Victoria and now I regret it. |

Yes, they could be worth something around $2 or $3. Ask your local coin dealer. |
