I have a newbee question... Why are American Silver eagles and American Gold Eagles more expensive than Canadian equivilants? It would seem the Canadian coins would be more expensive since they are .9999 fine and the American Bullion is .999 fine.
Thanks

Well, it certainty can't be Government price meddling, so it must be good old U$ofA marketing hype.
If more people would think for themselves, prices of many things would be other than what current markets use for exchange rates!
PS - Ever notice any difference between what dealers offer to sell at and what the price is they are willing to buy the very same lump of metal? |

If our overpriced government didn't have to get their wastefull grubby hands into everyone's business, I am sure the spread would be lower. |

it also depends on where you are buying, at least where i live, maples generally carry a higher premium than eagles, i get the 'generic silver round' price when buying them at my local dealer. Same price as A-mark or apmex silver rounds when they have them. |

Bascially its logistics. Maples are less expensive in the U.S just like U.S ealges are less expensive in Canada. |

I paid .50 over for silver maples and spot for some bars and eagles.
I will get that premium back when I sell them. |
