I Processed 10 boxes yesterday. I ended up with 96 lbs. Zn, and 51 lbs. of Cu. Not a bad percentage.....
Just a side note...I have my girl friend dump my Zn..$50.00 at a time and take the cash from several different branches...then I just make one deposit in cash. This way the tellers donn't have to see me dumping all the pennies I just picked up a few days ago.
I think that bank is going to see the pattern here eventually.. LOL
Boy, I wish I could get somebody to dump my zinc for me and give me cash.. that would be sweet. And of course I wouldn't deposit the cash.. I just buy tons more pennies!
If your percentages are low.. just sort more.
"Preserving REAL coinage.. 2 tons at a time... and FAKE coinage.. a quarter ton at a time.. just for speculation"
Why would you deposit cash? Instead, use the cash to buy more pennies.
I don't get it.

I also try to just do it all in cash - it's easier and there is little record of it thinking of future tax issues here). I buy the pennies in cash, and ask for cash when I take the zincs to the credit union. Then I take that cash and buy more pennies.
I like doing it all in cash too. I drop off 12 bags of pennies at my dump bank.. they ask how I would like it, and I tell them I would like it all in pennies. They load my cart up with 24 boxes of fresh pennies and I roll on out the door.. One stop shopping.. sooooooo convenient!!!

Wow that is some sweet setup. I haven't gotten up the nerve yet to dump my zincs at the CU and then go up to the window and ask for more pennies. I've noticed that CU tellers are not quite as friendly as commercial banks.
Not sure if commercial bank tellers are any friendlier than Credit Union Tellers. I need to go open some credit union accounts and test this out. I think they might all get a little unfriendly when they see you carting in 400 pounds of zinc.. LOL. Actually one of my other banks cut me down to one order every 3 months.. guess they figured out I only had ten bucks in my account and they weren't making any money off me. The deal at my dump bank is pretty sweet, but no telling how long it will last. They started making noises when I decided to take my operation up a notch and bought 114 boxes of pennies in one week and dumped off 4 times there in that week. Check out the pic I posted on the previous coin sorting thread.. I was getting a little behind on my sorting. Funny thing.. I deposited 4 boxes of "new" pennies at one of my banks the other day.. they asked "What's wrong with them?" I replied "they're shiny!"
