Also, what foreign coins/tokens have you found?

Clad:
'86 Statue of Liberty
'89 Bicentennial of the Congress
'93 50th Anniversary WWII
'95 Atlanta Olympics Baseball

Silver:
'25 Stone Mountain x 2

Foreign:

D.D. -

My brother and I have found only one commemorative to date. On 12/12/09 he pulled a 1952 Booker T. Washington/George Washington Carver from a Coin Wrap Inc. box. Red Book indicates mintage of 1,106,292 for this coin. This was the final "classical" commemorative that was minted and is also the lowest priced old commemorative. Upside was that it was a minimum AU55+ coin if not MS60. It really is a very nice coin and no doubt in my mind had a one-way trip from someone's collection into circulation and then into our hands. Not a lot of time to get beat up. Retail a $15-$20 coin.

We have never pulled any foreign coins in our half dollar CRH'ing efforts. I would love to get one of those Panama Balboas...I think the 1 Balboa coins were silver until the late 1940's, copper-nickel after that. Correct me anyone that knows if this is incorrect. I have never seen any of these in dealer "junk bins".

Take care,

Jeff

I have found 2;

a 1926 American independence commemerative

and a 2008 gold painted half with an Obama sticker on it sold as a commemerative !

Needless to say i saved the 1926 and gave the Obama half to the teller. The ironic thing is someone got rid of the Obama half less than 10 months after he was sworn in and I picked it up only 4 blocks from the White House! Even more telling is the teller still has it in her tray becuase no one wants it after a month!

I've never found anything other then Kennedy's. My half searching sucks.

The only Commemorative I've found is when I stopped at a local bank and asked for any halves...she had $11 worth and one of them was a 1892 Columbian Exposition. Made my day, week and month.

The 10, 25 & 50 cent were all 90% silver until 1964, same as the US (Panamanian dollar was/is pegged to the US dollar). I assume that the same is true for the 1 Balboa.

I've found a few of the Canadian 2002 50 cent pieces which commemorate the queens 50th year of rule.

If they count?
