I found a silver World War II nickel today 1945 S

It has the letter S and the number 1 stamped on it

Is there any significance to these stamps? or was someone just playing around and stamped it?

That is strange.

Does it have the large S above the dome on the reverse? It was taking too long to download image for me to view so as soon as I was able to see the S and 1 on Jefferson's head I exited so if you had a picture of the reverse, I apologize for asking.

Maybe someone like Counterstamp will chime in with info like happened with my NRA counterstamped nickel.

It's fun to find these unusual things then try to figure out where it came from and why it is like that.
