this topic is part two to the $7 food storage budget utilizing the dollar store.
(Link added by Nickelless: You must be logged in to see this link.)
in this one, if one really had to dwindle it down to five categories. some of the 7 categories simply hooked up in the $5.00 budget
1. grains 2. legumes/proteins 3. vegetables/soups 4. fruits/liquids/dairies 5. fats/baking goods
in this one you have to decide what it is that is really important to you for survival eating. the same three extras would apply if discretionary funds allowed.
a. health/hygiene b. home c. security
there is one more opportunity that is part three involving $5.00 again but one meal cans
B cereal (hot/cold) or hashbrowns or spam
L beef stew or spaghettios or black beans and rice (yes they come in a can. so do red beans and rice!)
D chicken or beef soup. an ARMOUR STAR can of pasta and chicken with garden vegetables, etc... they have a whole line and a website that includes being prepared!!! You must be logged in to see this link.
S liquid/dairy/juice all the empty pete/pet bottles can be washed and saved to store water later S crackers, fruit, trail mix, etc...
b= breakfast l= lunch s= snack
please let me know what you think. let me know if you would giv this advice or anthy of the other advices to someone else who is strapped for cash as well.
