Looks like the Dubai bailout might restore the levels pre-Thanksgiving:

Reports I heard yesterday were that Dubai is helping the dollar as it is a traditional safe haven. I guess Dubai is affecting PMs as well.

Just another day in the office. Gold will more than double and silver will hit an all time high sure enough.

The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities.

I paid $19.30 on ebay last week, but it was for rolls of BU 1954S, 1956, 1957, 1958 quarters. And a ton of 54S and 59D dimes.

$19 silver and $1200 gold today. I would let out a cheer but even with as much PMs that I'm holding I know the reasons that are driving up PM prices are nothing to cheer about. And to boot Obama is digging us deeper into a no win war.

Sorry to be a party pooper folks.

Tomorrow may be even better! Could we be seeing the beginning of an exponential rise of PMs?

Perhaps the COMEX shorts are being forced to cover finally in a massive short squeeze!!! Sure looks like some short covering is going on.

Better buy guys, instead of waiting for a better buy.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here. My crystal ball says 0.5 to 1.0 daily cumulative gains for silver and gold through March with only temporary profit-taking pullbacks (which get overwhelmed by buy-side demand) and brief periods of consolidation. $1600 gold. $23.50 silver.

You aren't a party pooper! You are a realist. This upswing brings such mixed feelings for me too. Of course, my hoard is so minute that it isn't even funny. A few war nickels found in my searches and a few dimes. Not much at all. But interesting to watch the live market quotes. Another way to spend an otherwise boring day at home. Oh.......and let us not forget about my huge purchase of the gold...the tiny part of a gram piece I bought for $8.00 a few months ago. Maybe it is worth $9.00 now!

There should be an "adjustment" soon. Price will drop back down a bit, but then skyrocket soon. Jan/Feb price will go down a bit, and high again as people recover from holiday spending and purchase more. My $0.02.

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

In my option Gold and Platinum are still too close together in price.

I know,I know you going to say it an industrial metal and since the car business is down etc... Regardless, it should be much higher!

Still you have to love this chart!

I agree 100%. I bought a lot of silver during the recent dip at about 11-11.5 X FV. The only thing I am buying now is platinum (and pennies to sort.) Relative to all other PMs, platinum has the most catching up to do.

Just my two cents!

Are there any good sites charting ratios of gold and silver to platinum and palladium?

This is the best chart I have been able to find.

You must be logged in to see this link.

The ratio today is about 1.25. Get me back to 1.5, and we are talking about $1830 platinum.

Just my two cents!
