Or they go out 1 or 2 times.. don't know what the heck they are doing.. manage to get your order of pennies the first time.. then inappropriate language off the banker.. then nobody can get pennies at the bank anymore. Not sure encouraging a bunch of amateurs is a great idea.. I don't see a lot of them flipping to becoming buyers once they have tasted "free" copper. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

Ummm, guys? I'd like to raise a few points. First, it's not like copper cents is a big secret. Second, anyone who drifts over from FinancialSense reading is probably big bucks and would prefer to buy from others - good thing, right? Third, I can see Hoard's viewpoint, and it is valid, but that could happen anyway, and it's less likely if the newcomer's are educated. So, what? are we going to shut our doors at the forum to avoid those problems? I don't think so. Teach them. Four, it's not like we're gonna get a flood of newcomers. So far I've had one reader response per week. The first guy was already into nickel. Five, you can't have it both ways, do we stay secret or get exposure. We have strings on our own site asking what we're doing to promote the cause? Six, TSHTF one of these days. Wouldn't you rather the news about copper got out while newbies have cash to buy? Seven, I'm just one little voice in the wilderness...I doubt I'm gonna have very much impact. If you're worried about it we can call Nate and Michael and tell them to quit promoting copper too. Eight, finally... there isn't a whole lot I can say, week after week, about copper that I haven't already said, so I will be submitting articles in the future on silver, gold, and the economy, only an infrequent one on copper to make it stretch. Hope I haven't stepped on any toes, that's not my intention. Just some thoughts. Feedback? |

| Its definitely a hard one for sure. Think of the gold rush in 49. If that guy wouldn't have said anything, think how much richer he would've been. I wish I would've found this site a few yrs before I did as well. Might've had a few more tons by now lol |

nuther thing. This might not be the best analogy but here goes. We're trying to win the game (higher prices better for everyone). We already have plenty of heavy hitters (hoarders) on this site. We need guys who can hit singles too. Or get on base with a walk (newbies). We also need a good pitcher. I'm sure the owners (Portland Mint, pennybullion, Copper Cave, Market Harmony) would like to see more customers coming thru the turnstiles, so whatever we can do (jmho) to boost ticket sales is a good thing, right? Another poor analogy: we don't stop training our troops before we send them into battle, because it would make conditions more dangerous for the guys on the front? I think it's better to have newbies here, learning from pro's, then to have them out on their own making mistakes we've already learned not to make. I'm really trying to popularize this site, more than raise the price of copper (ha, like I could do that!) Again, jmho |

I'm sure keeping copper a "secret" would benefit those who have a lot of capital available to build their hoards, however it restricts those who have a limited budget. By sorting, selling for a profit, and reinvesting, those with limited capital can build their hoards beyond their original budget. I buy the majority of the copper cents and nickel nickels I sell from fellow Realcent members. The more exposure copper gets, the more I sell. The more I sell, the more I buy from Realcent members. The more I buy, the more those members can build their hoards. Granted I am a small player in the coin bullion market, but the idea holds true for others as well.
You can also think about it this way; copper as an investment is going through some growing pains. It's gaining attention, but there are also many skeptics. I answer at least a dozen questions a week about copper that come in through my website, as I'm sure Market Harmony, Portland Mint, Penny Bullion, and others do as well. These companies, along with well-written articles like Beauanderos' and Jadedragon's, are serving to educate people about copper now, laying the groundwork so that there are active buyers when it comes time for hoarders to "cash in" some of the stashes.
It may take a couple years until base metals become mainstream and you find copper cents and bullion in local coin shops. Would you rather that process start now, so that copper is a trusted investment vehicle by the time you wish to sell, or would you rather it stay a secret, so that when you want to sell, you have go through the process of finding and convincing buyers yourself? The more attention copper gets now, and the more potential buyers are educated now, the easier it will be to buy/sell/trade copper as an investment vehicle in the future. |
