I went to get bags of pennies today. The CU's had twice their normal amount. With BLACK Friday this week and Christmas coming up fast, people are cashing in their change.
With the economy as bad as it is, people are having to cash in those change jars to just get by.
I think from now until mid January, we should be able to get more than our usual penny pickups.

Along with the extra pennies, comes extra junk. Both of my coin counting machines were having issues with these bags. I have over 100 bad pennies from this group. Stuck together and gunked up pennies. Even trying to run them through the coin counter didn't get out all the nasty ones. Had a lot of jams in the Ryedales too. Just glad I had 3 running at a time.
I guess I am gonna throw them in a plastic cup with some hot water and let them soak the night.

A good point indeed.I have been very busy lately and took a break on pickups.It's been hard to resist not going to my usual pickups every week.But now with new tires on the van and slicks little nugget of insight,I think I'll take the long route home tomorrow.
More Pennies than usual
