These were the grandfather to the Gold Eagles. These were what the mint made when it again became legal to own gold.
They are pure gold and no one really liked them, too soft. They are often artsy and make little reason to normal people. They have no description of what they are, most rounds say "1 ounce silver .999 pure." Most coins have a face value. These have neither.
The deal is good from APMEX, but they are selling them becasue although they are gold most people need an explaination before they will take them.
They are mostly unknown and unwanted. |
Silver Monometalism is the most permanent and stable form of money the world has seen. Natural law and history prove silver value is best multiplied by gold and best divided by copper. It is only in this counterfeit currency time when the natural law appears suspended. |

Hi there-
Great points from coppernickel, but I don't think they are PURE gold, I am pretty sure they are .9 fine. Personally, I'd pay the extra 10 bucks and get Krugers, or you could try Mexican gold coins. Even LOWER premiums and it's good stuff.

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.
I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win. |
