| That is an excellent article that I think sums up all of our justification (as if it was needed!!!!) to this activity. That being said, should the quantity of copper holders increase what does everyone think about the time frame of which copper will remain in circulation? I remember seeing a post a few months back where someone did the math on the current "copper holders" but was curious as to what everyone thinks. I am a hand sorter so it is not so much an issue for me but for some of the other members like andy or HCBTT I am curious as to your opinion. Cheers all! |

Thanks Country, but let's give credit where credit is due. It was the challenge from Jadedragon that got me started writing a couple of weeks ago and he is publishing as well

It's gonna take a team effort to score on silver or gold, but this is just the first innning of a long game... and we still have some of our big hitters coming to bat
Now then why don't we extend the challenge a bit. Country... you seem to have the brain cells to take the plunge, how about it. An article, eh? Hey batta, batta, swing, batta, batta |

I know my figures weren't exact because I rushed it and only calculated the Memorials in circulation, but if every person in the US held their share of the copper pennies it would only take $5.60 per person. Now, that's just not going to happen. You'll have some monsters like Hoard and Highroller terrorizing Tokyo but for the most part we the people are unlikely to cause a copper shortage by our own efforts. It will come about at some point due to an organized activity of a competitor we don't currently face; someone like Coinstar, Brinks, Loomis, perhaps even the US Mint? JMHO |

I'm getting emails from people I don't know... has to be a result of the article posting let's keep pushing to get the word out (after we all have our own hoards built up, of course) and see if three years or so won't bring a marked difference. I think we'll see at least a double by next summer as the dollar says byeeeeeee and swirls down the toilet. |

If we keep copper pennies a secret we have more time to hoard but it is not going to matter when the big players step in. If we don't promote we no market for our coins and many of our members will have to quit for lack of cash.
I have way more then $ 5.60 of copper memorials and I was not even counted in the equation. |
