Found a straight clipped planchet penny in a box of CWR's the other day. Are the straight clips harder to find/more valuable than a curved clip error? Is there any way to tell it is a true error rather than someone taking it and sawing away at it due to boredom? It looks like a very precise clip though, rather than a hack job. If its real, any ideas on the value?

Does your coin have the zinc interior exposed?

I'm not sure about this, but if it was a legit mint error, wouldn't it have copper plating on the edge even if it was clipped?

It does show the zinc interior. Does that rule out the error possibility?

Does sound like post mint damage.
