Over the past 100,000 nickels from Canadian banks, I have just managed to complete one roll of 2000 P nickels (40).
Over the same interval I found . . .
7 US war nickels (probably a high number as four came from one trip to one bank)
1 US buffalo
2 George V nickels
No tombac
So they are pretty rare, but not as rare as the others.

I have also searched over 100,000 Canadian nickels myself.
I have been luckier with 2000P's. I found 400 to 500 of them.
There are rare, only 5,000,000 minted, a similar mintage to nickel productions of the 1920's and 1930's
My other stats are:
1 - US war nickel
0 - Buffalos
80 - George V nickels (although two were lucky strikes, one entire roll of 41 and a half roll of 20)
0 - Tombac
0 - 1948 Canadian nickels |
