It's a little late. When the credit legislation was passed credit card companies had months to raise rates before they had to comply. All my credit card rates increased, as did everyone else's already. More political pandering from the Senator who pushed for company bailout bonuses in the final minutes of the bailout bill!

Banks are telling lawmakers that they need more time to implement the changes.

WHAT!!!!????!!!! More time? They didn't need more time to come up with how much of the bailout money they wanted.

How hard is it to change the rates to something reasonable, or back to what they were?

That is why I pay with cash.

Dodd, Frank, and Franklin Raines were the major buffoons behind the subprime debacle, and the unsustanable real estate bubble that it created.

Now Turd Dodd is looking for cover by going after credit card rates?

Vote Schiff..... jail Dodd.

Why use a credit card? The nation functioned well without them.

Save money and use a debit card, folks.

How about don't carry a balance? Lots of people use a cc as if it was a Debit because they give rewards. No fee's if you pay it off before it charges you, earn free money.

I use a credit card, pay it off in full every month, and clear over $300 a year in rewards cash.
