I just got back from a coin show here in Portland, OR. The show was packed! It was difficult to look at every table because people were always in the way. I had to make like 3 passes at the show to be able to look at every table. I would say there was like 80 tables of dealers there. Lots of people selling numis to the dealers. I didn't see very much buying going on at all.
There was plenty of silver for sale. Lots of 100oz bars and 10oz bars. Very few 1 oz rounds. Also there were lots of 4-5 oz "commerative silver" stuff. 100oz bars were $1840-1880. 10oz bars were $190-$195. 1 oz rounds/bars were $19. SAE were $19.50-$20 There was around $800 face of 90% that I saw. Prices were 12.5x face to 14x. Very little bullion gold! There was 1 100g bar and 2-3 1oz bars. Only saw slabed 1 and 1/2 oz GAE. There was maybe 40 1/10 oz GAE with one dealer having about 35 of them. Prices were $125-$130 for the 1/10 ouncers. There was 2 Kurgerands that the guy wanted $1150 for and 3 maples that were $1175. I didn't see a single peice of platinum or paladdium.
Thanks for the info. The recent show in Central Florida around September 11th seemed to have a lot of people buying and selling. I'm not good at estimating the size of the show, ie, number of tables, but there were quite a few dealers.
The same as your show, it was hard to get close enough to some of tables to look at what they had. But what I was able to see I thought quite interesting. Don't remember seeing larger amount of silver/gold bullion but if I remember correctly there did seem to be a lot of 1 ounce amounts to purchase.
Those selling seemed happy. Those buying seemed happy, as well. Lots of people just looking too.
