Or at least that's what they told my son. He works at a local factory and somehow the conversation got around to people stripping houses of their copper wiring and plumbing. One of the guys told him that "Well... copper is worth more than gold now." After a questioning look another guy chimed in and agreed. "Yeah... I saw it in the paper. Gold is like a thousand, but copper is over three thousand. So copper is worth three times as much as gold!"
So these dipsticks are going through their sheds looking for chunks of wire and ends of copper pipe to take to the scrap yard... thinking they'll be rich. My son tried to tell them that the gold price was per ounce but the copper price was per TON.... but they didn't believe him. (half a rick shy of a cord I think)
But if this belief is rampant it may explain some of the seemingly stupid behavior with respect to stealing copper.
If they ever want to trade their gold coins and jewelery for copper, I'll hook em up.
I bet the yard straightens em out.
The silver [is] mine, and the gold [is] mine, saith the LORD of hosts. Hag 2:8 [/b] He created it. He controls it. He gave it to us for His use. Why did we turn from sound scriptural currency that PROTECTS us?
Yeah, they had another power outage out in my area the other day. Seems some numbnuts tried to steal some copper wire. I thought they were done trying to do that. Does this mean the copper market is up? Tried to turn himself into a crispy critter. Unfortunately, he survived.. but the taxpayers are probably going to eat the medical cost for treating his severe burns. Wonder if he will try it again.
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
They were stripping the wires that connect the light poles in my town, so the city started cementing in the utility access lids. Just hope they don't require routine maintenance!
