Yeah, if you read some of the historical posts you will see that most members recommend not dumping at any of your supply banks. They star to think like your current manager. Sure, it's dang convenient.. but the banks don't think so.. lol. The way dump banks are sometimes selected is when they make the decision to cease being supply banks. Generally you guarantee your supply banks that you will not return the coins there.
I want to know the secrets some of you guys have for feeding CoinStars. I can't do a bag in 10 minutes. I tried 3 bags at the free CoinStar my CU has (the only financial institution I deal with that has a lobby counting machine) and the best I could do was 14-15 minutes a bag. This would work out to about 450 coins per minute. Maybe I am feeding it too fast. I always see the message "My you have a lot of coins! Please wait while we catch up." |

Do not pay the CoinStar fee. If you are willing to eat that much in charges, just buy your coppers from other members and have them shipped to you. |

Like Hoard said, you definately have to spread it around. I'm lucky to have literally a hundred banks within 20 minutes of my house. I use bank of america only for dumps, but i only dump at any one bank once every 10 - 15 days so not to bring much attention. The same goes for me ordering as well. I don't have any standing orders and change banks to get coin every several days as well. Also as stated on this forum before your relationship with the tellers will take you further than anything else you can do. Make sure you always maintain that relationship. Yes, it is their job, but the better you make it on them the more they are willing to help you. Chocolate and little gifts are much cheaper than spending gas and time to have to travel to another bank down the road... |

There is a benefit to Coinstar?
|
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

Sure there is a benefit. If you need money in the middle of the night.. and all your bank accounts have been tapped out.. you can always dump a few bags of zincs in one and get some ready cash.. but it'll cost you. |
