Using cash is the way to go. The other day I got three uncirculated 1961 lincolns cents - shiny as the day they were issued. Nothing valuable, but more fun that the paper reciept I would have gotten with the debit card. |

Getting something interesting back in change certainly is fun. Makes having to shop for the necessities more tolerable.
Enjoy! |

Another good reason to use cash is that with debit or credit all your purchases are tracked. |

Got a wheat penny in change a couple of weeks back and thought I struck gold! LOL |
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

I buddy of mine was putting a quarter in a drink machine and it would not take it. He finally looked at it and it was silver! He ended up giving it to me because he knew I collected coins. :-) |

I alway try to use paper money. I also look at my change checking for any thing that is worth keeping. Like Christmas everytime I get change back. |

don't forget to look for star notes on all your paper money. I've only found a few so far but I always ask for them when I pick up and drop off. That and those old 100s |

As fast as the FRNs are being printed these days, sometimes it is a non-starred note that could be more valuable. I am hearing that occasionally entire bundles are all starred notes in sequential order.
I also had a dealer tell me that unless the starred note was really, really old or an unusual serial number in almost pristine condition that they are not worth that much these days since they are becoming more of a normal item rather than a rarity. |

Yea i try to use cash so i can get back change! I never even give the change i always give that dollar extra to get back coins. Ill even stop the gas pump with 8 cents from the round number so i will get a nickel and 3 pennies. I noticed if i go 1 over like .51 they will give you a dime instead of .09 cents. |
