ICCS = International Coin Certification Service
Have anybody used them before? I tried to find on the web but with no luck; I want to know what is the procedure, what is the smallest batch of coins that can be send and to get an idea about the prices and how long it takes.
Can anyone share their experience with this company.
Thanks!

Never heard of that one. If you go to Google and type in Third Party Grading Sevices or just coin grading services you would find there are now over 100 of them. Many are so called fly by nighters, some are someone in a basement making money. Stick with the well known ones.

I use ICCS and have for several years. They've been around for a few decades and are the best TPG for Canadian coins as far as I'm concerned.

In fact, ICCS is the premiere grading company in Canada.

Hi jello_g,
What was your experience with them? Any idea what are the costs/fees to grade a coin or a batch? How does the process work? Some time ago I found on the web that I have to send (the coins + the fee for certification + the shipping fees).
It seems strange that such an old company and very well known still has no web page or an email address.

I'm satisfied with their service. I collect primarily coins of Canada, and since ICCS specializes in Cdn. coins, I really have had no need to go elsewhere to have coins certified. They've certified 100's, perhaps even over 1000 coins for me over the years. I always make submissions in batches to take advantage of their bulk rate. It also helps that they're local to me (Toronto), so that's added convenience as I drop off and pick up in person. You can view their service request form here, but it's out of date: You must be logged in to see this link. When submitting >100 coins simultaneously I believe the rate is $6.50 each (or $7? haven't been there in over a year so I've forgotten). The turnaround time with the bulk rate is 6-7 weeks, but I'm in no rush. Yes it seems odd they have no web presence. It doesn't matter, experienced collectors know who they are and they do plenty enough business as is without the added exposure.

I've seen a few ICCS-graded coins, but I believe that they don't use a hard plastic, inert holder like PCGS and NGC. In fact, I believe that it's like a cardboard insert or something silimar. Comments about it being the premiere service in Canada is correct.
Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply. |

Don't ever get numismatic coins certified unless they are key dates or very high grade. The fees are unrecovereable when selling. Only use PCGS of NGC as they are the top two grading companies recognized by dealers. Of the other grading companies, many are probably scams. If a coin is worth grading, get it done right. My $0.02 gained after many thousands in educational fees.
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?
