OK, my husband says a monster has been created now that I can figure out how to post some pictures when I have access to high speed. Don't worry that isn't too frequently, so you all don't need to run and unplug your computers!
I had found a really pretty jar at a yard sale earlier this year and I thought it would be nice to keep all non-penny 2009 coins in it since that is the year that my son married and I gained a daughter. Projecting ahead here to anniversary gifts in a few years similar to what I am now doing so late in the came for their birth years. Trying to get ahead, so to speak.
Well, until this last week when my husband lucked into 5 of the Sac. Dollars, the one 2009 nickel that I claimed in the First Finds contest was all that was in the big jar. So, I took a picture to show you the meager contents.

Enjoy.

Thats a really cool jar, and a great gift idea. If it makes you feel any better, I have found no 2009 coins besides the pennies :p |

Post as many pictures as you like. I for one like tons of pictures.

That's a neat jar, I wish some of you would rub off on my wife I would get that look if I bought something like that to serve that purpose. I also found my first 2009 nickel about two weeks ago, was pretty surprised when i saw it. Don't worry about the empty space it fills up quicker than you may think. |

Other than the few 2009 pennies as seen in photo under the copper bullion section and the six coins in this jar, I have not seen any of the other coins in any of my searches.
This really has me intrigued and I wonder how long it will be before people let loose of what they have found of the 2009s and they end up in general circulation!!! Sooner, rather than later, would make me very happy.
Continued success to one and all on finding 2009 coins. |

This jar was found at a yard sale in Central Florida. Sometimes you can find nice things at a decent price. Other times, it is either junk or way too expensive. Thankfully, my husband humors me in this hobby of searching coins and going to yard sales with him driving me. He knows the coin searches gives me something to do with my time while he works and I sit home alone. Sorting coins or crocheting are harmless activities and they both help entertain me as well as exercise my brain.
Good Luck in your searches. |

Yippee!!! Just had a chance to go through my change from this past week's outings and I had received a 2009 P Guam quarter in change. I am thrilled as that is the first 2009 quarter I have gotten so far. One more coin in the jar for the kids' wedding year.

Slowly, slowly the jar will be filled with 2009 coins for the kids' wedding year.
I got my first 2009 P Puerto Rico quarter this past week in change. That is only the second 2009 quarter I have found. Sadly I see someone beat me to it in the First Finds Contest. But it was still fun to find it and to place it lovingly in the jar for the kids' anniversary whenever I can finally get it filled. That could take many anniversaries before that is accomplished. But fun to do.
Enjoy your searches, everyone! |
