Hi guys, hows it going just thought i'd give you my first month's report(whether you're interested or not).
had a busy month on the art bar/rounds front i have to say i prefer bars.
i'm not sure if i'm a hoarder or a collector i dont suppose it matters too much.while i'm sure it will disgust you that quite a lot of what i have bought was over spot price it must be remembered i have to work in
£GB as im english the going rate over here seem to be between £10-£13 yeah double it and your close enough.
though i've hit lucky and bought some from the usa which works out cheaper it's all about timing(ebay).one i got for $6us what a steal!!
i'm upto my 1.5kg in my first month while you may be working in tons or 10s kg i'm quite pleased with myself.i'm quite young(36) so i can probably afford to sit on my hoard? for at least 25-30 years if i work at 1kg a month til im 65yrs i should be sitting quite pretty especially if this $40-50 in five years hype is correct.there is one set of bars with presidential cameos on i've decided to try and complete the set(35) i think the're washington-kennedy inclusive.
thanks for reading hope i haven't bored you all to death.
p.s.pensalvanian remember to cut and paste you ussually do!!!!

Perhaps on my lunch break today I'll take a drive and see if my local coin dealer has any silver art bars at a price close to spot. You got me interested again harbinger. :)

Hello Harbinger, and welcome to the forum.

Are there any circulating coins, in the US penny, or US nickel diameter, that would be worth sorting for alloy content. The penny is 19mm and the nickel is 21.2mm

As I'm sure you've found, many here are into sorting for base metals IE copper and nickel. Also if you have a good link for circulating british coins and their metallurgy, it would be great.

I would love to ship one of my sorting machines to the UK for testing.
Feel free to PM me if you care to.

Take care Ryedale

Hi Rydale, dont know much about metalurgy, british copper coins hmm yeah you should be able to pick these up easy enough we tend to throw them away even the schoolkids the're virtually no use for buying anything with you can even get the pre decimal pennies for next to nothing.i'll have a look about for some links but its not really my feild-though i suppose it comes under the same umbrella.regards dave
