Earlier i went to the bank to dump the useless nickels, since i had a few extra rolls lying around, i decided to roll them up, they said they would charge me 10 cents per roll because i had 48 of them. I'm not sorting at the amount needed to have a counter yet, any advice for returning pennies, nickels, dimes, etc?

-Thanks

48 rolls of coin is nothing, not unreasonable at all. Find a new bank. As mentioned, look into the credit unions. A lot of them either have counters in the lobby, or will take the coin loose and run it through their counter and credit your account.

Ditto what Bluegill said -- 48 rolls is nothing. That's only $24 in nickels.

48 rolls is 98 dollars in nickels, and I'll have a look around, thanks.

And by the way, do the coin sorters dispense money, or do you take them to the teller?

just short of one box and worth $96. crazy to pay fees. Some people save all their nickels. Hope you pulled all the Canadian pure Ni ones.

Finding a new bank is always a good idea.. that is why there is one on every corner.

Might be more fun to spend them though. Pay a utility bill, buy gas, pay a credit card bill, or just buy pizza with them.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Hehe.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

I posted the right math without pointing out the other errors I saw. I do lots of nickels though.
