Hey all I just made this up cause I am bored and want to total the melt value of my American junk silver. It is an excel spread sheet that calculates the value of your coins based on silvers current price. It is all set up, all you have to do is type in how many of each coin you have in the quantities column and type in the current price of silver under the word silver in the upper right hand corner and it does the rest for you. This will tell you the total value of your collection, the melt value of each coin and the total melt value of the total number of each coin you have. It is real simple and easy and free. I do not know how to host this so just E-mail me at Trockstroh@gmail.com and I will send it to you as an attachment. Sorry if this has been posted or if there is some program I do not know about I am just trying to be nice and let you all enjoy this.

So it's in Excel format? Will it work for Office for PDA?

Also if you guys have any coins I should add or know of any gold coins post the weight of the coin (in grams) and what percent gold/silver it is and I will add it.

I was debating on adding the American Eagle Dollar but I just count it as Silver bullion.

Nice little setup. Mine includes all Canadian silver coins as well. I also added Columns to show the coin location. It's fun to see what your collection is worth at different metal values.

I made another tab to track copper and nickel. I'm slowly sifting through my coins by hand to separate out US vs Cdn and pull all Wheats and Kings. The common/newer coins and separated wheats hit the high speed counter, filling bags of 2500 coins each. I label the counted bags and place them in numbered bins. The contents of each bin form a line on my spreadsheet and increase my total count. This process takes a fair amount of time, and I have a long ways to go to get a total count.

Ok guys so I have added some more on this to help me track my coin collection and I think that the new one is much better than the old so here are some screen shots so you can decide weather or not this is for you and if you got a copy of my first one you will probably like this one more. As always please let me know what you would like to see added in and I will add it. I am working on adding in some random foreign silver coins but it is taking some time to figure out which ones are worth adding.

You could host it in google docs.

Nice, I was going through and found a nice barber half I forgot I had.

Also when tallied on your sheet I had a four hundred dollar higher total than the "close to" total I keep in my head, and I can keep a "running score".

Thanks!

I used this last night...it took me 2 hours to inventory my safe, and I didn't know where half of the stuff came from or what I paid for it.

My guesstamation to actual melt value was way off. I had way more in the safe than I thought I did.

It was nice to finally have a reason to inventory and organize the clutter in the safe.

Target,

It is a very nice spreadsheet.

I would make one correction.

Canadian dimes and quarters from 1920-1966 are all 80% silver
Canadian silver dimes and silver quarters for 1968 are all 50% silver

Half of 1967 dimes and quarters were minted in 80% silver and the other half were minted in 50% silver. So averaging out, 1967 dimes and quarters are considered to be 65% silver by most coin dealers when you have a bunch.

Thanks TaRget,

The spreadsheet is very helpful.

Unfortunately, I haven't looked at my chart in a couple of weeks. I am afraid to watch how much the value of my "stash" will drop when I update it.
I sold off about 60 percent of my silver.
