Found a 1931-s Lincoln last night in fine condition and it now ranks as my oldsest "S" wheat.
Didn't think much about it at the time but after checking mintages on "S's" I discovered it is the 2nd lowest "S" mintage of all.
Heck this is better than my wild Indian finds.

According to You must be logged in to see this link., your 31 S in fine condition has a fair market value of $101.20. That's a GREAT score! Congrats. Do you have any pictures to share? |

I am surprised this isnt getting any other feedback from the other members. That has to be the top finds for 2009 or even of all time. To find one of the big 4 (1909-S VDB, 1914-D, 1922, 1931-S) while sorting is amazing.
Great Find! |

It usually is one of the last five needed. Key date. I bet you are also missing the '09S V.D.B., '09S, '14D, '22 no D, and the '31S?

Found it in a Brinks box. I hand sort. I turn the ballgame on for background noise and sit and sort. I'm approaching 200K in a little more than 15 months. |

I'm going to go and find that pic....where was it again?
Awesome find!
wish me luck, I won a LOT of Indians and Wheats on an ebay auction from a seller that I know doesn't carefully look through their loose batches(must have been inherited or something) (I had won a lot of barber dimes at silver value from her and pulled a $15 dime out of the batch!!) |
