I was in Rochester & the southern tier the past week and secured 6 boxes of Brinks pennies. I can't belive the % and the wheats. 36% Cu and 12 wheats per box. Penny sorters heaven! Is this average for you guys? Houston avg. is 19.5% and 7 wheats per box.

| Welcome to the RustBelt Copper Percent phenomenon. It has been said that because of a lack of a strong local economy coins do not get swirled so often hence the higher percentage. Once you hit a state like Michigan (dead last in economic activity +10 years running) and you will get at least 30% copper return anywhere in the state. |

I was gonna try to pick up a box or two or ten while I was in NY last week but I really hate wrapped pennies since I can get bags.
I am getting around 22.5% here in SC. |

| I'm from Michigan and I can't say I get such percentages. I get around 20-25%. The only special it seems is I do get a lot of old canadians. I do however have live close to at least two other sorters which might lower my percentages. Next time I have a chance I would like to try a few auto towns here in michigan however. I would like to try some banks from Lansing or Flint. I bet I'd get some nice percentages there. |

| I'm from Central NY and since I started 15 months ago I've averaged 24.5%. That doesn't count the 82's or wheats. Wheats are around 0.5% (2 per 100). All the 82's go into a bin for weighing & sorting over the winter. |
You're kidding, right? |

| TXTIM- you should have mentioned that you were coming to Rochester. I don't live too farm from there and wouldn't have minded meeting you in person. I have fopund that the copper % has been good lately. However, I have had terrible luck with wheats. |

| No bullsh!t here, in North Texas on my last $100 run, I yielded 40% coppers. I had 650 from the sixties alone. I am going to keep the 60's in a seperate pile. They may be eventually worth more who knows. Also pulled 62 wheats. |

I'm just a few hundred miles away in the next state over from NY and I can say I get some boxes in the 30-35% range, I haven't gotten a box lower than 27% in the last few months, and have never got a box higher than 35%. But the 12 wheat per box would be low for me, I get at least 20 wheats per box average, with the occasional 40-80 wheat box. The New England states are a penny sorters heaven, I have gotten at least one box from each state, NY,CT,MA,RI,VT,NH,ME and all tend to be in the 30% range. I think the pennies in the New England region don't really leave this area of country, and with the small amount of sorters around here, the Cu stays in circulation longer. |
