I have a collection of Silver Clad halves i'm interested in selling. So after posting what i'd like to be paid here, I started calling local coin shops. Most either would not buy or were only looking to spend about 3 to 3.2 x FV. Most [but not all] of these store owners are all arrogant SOBs IMO, too busy for small timers like myself but that's the way it goes. Anyways, one person I was able to speak with for a bit, was not interested in buying clad halves, and told me that he buys them at $0.55 a piece. I was shocked and said, "you can buy clad halves at 55 cents a piece".
He replied with, "I'm the best that ever was...gotta run and take another call".

That was awesome to hear such a deal was being made at this time. Probably won't be seeing deals like this on here or ebay any time soon. I'm only getting halves that i order from banks. Perhaps i should try advertising...though the thought of having to haggle with people trying to sell at spot doesn't seem too interesting (ironically this is exactly what I was doing yesterday on the phone)

Selling Copper cents. $0 FV available at 1.4xFV. Also interested in trading for wheat pennies and other coins Please pm me for requests or inquiries.

I would like to buy silver 40% halves at 55c each. That's ridiculous. They have plenty of value. However, most folks want to sell their 40% to buy something else.

There are buyers, but you've got to price your 40%ers at less than spot. Honest dealers will pay 3-3.5X face. If you price them somewhere between the dealers buy and the silver spot price, they will sell. At a healthy discount to silver spot, there will be plenty of buyers.

You can ship them all to Bullion Direct and get $392/$100 right now. Your net would be $392 less 1% less your shipping cost. Or, I bet you will sell some of your 40% rolls right here on RealCent for that price too.

Country i have to say that's an impressive '09 hit percentage (over $12 a week in collected halves). Mind if I ask how much you sort a month?

Also what do you consider NIFC for halves?

Amazing!

NIFCs are 1987, and 2002 to date for me.

The 2009 came out of two boxes. Almost a roll of them must have been dumped into a bank bag. I guess I got the whole bag with my 2 boxes of halves. Sometimes it works out that way, especially when you a get a good box of silvers. You hope you've got the other half of the bank bag.

I'm doing $2000/week in halves. Sometimes I get good boxes, sometimes ugly magic marked boxes.

You can sell 40% on eBay for 4.2x (AFTER FEES) all day right now.

Truly clad (i.e. zero percent silver) you can sell BU rolls for a bit over face after fees also.

You have to be careful on EBAY. Sometimes, large lots of 40% goes for less than you think.

Ebay sales do vary and that's what i'm concerned about. I stopped looking for halves when i started penny searching, though this week I'm trying to swing 2k and $300 in pennies, hand sorting. But your findings this year are truely inspirational, so i think i've got to switch back over to silver searching full time again.
