I stopped at two different banks the other day and "bought" one $25.00 box of pennies at each.

Agony = One whole box was full of 2006 rolled pennies.

Victory = 35% copper, 10 Wheats , and a 1905 Indian head !

I've never gotten an Indian Head penny in a roll (or anywhere in circulation, for that matter).

Nice finds BonPecheur. I have gotten 2 Indian Heads so far. Both came from banks that roll what comes in from the public. I have not found one in a brinks box yet.

I gave a teller (extremely nice) at one bank the other day my phone number because she says she has been getting in a lot from people lately. I think these are more apt to have heavier concentrations of copper. Still waiting for a call (of course it has only been 2 days...)

No ulterior motive there for giving the teller your phone number, eh??

Hey, I bet it would be nice to have a significant other working as a bank teller. There is no telling what finds they could set aside for you. Plus a few of the tellers at my local bank are pretty cute!

The 2006 pennies if uncirculated actually do have some value to collectors. Hang on to them or try to sell thenm on Ebay.

the last 2 banks; the lady tellers actually gave me their card and number and said to call them so they could hook me up (strictly business...)

Does Ben Franklin's saying now need to be "a copper penny saved is 2.1 pennies earned"?
