I went today to the state employees credit union and Used the free counter for the first time. That thing was awesome. counted a 113 dollars worth of zinc in a few minutes. Well i had about 10 dollars left and the machine told me it was full. So the teller comes and changes the bag and I tell her i want to check this thing out. She opens one side and i am like ok this is cool. then She opens the other side and i look and i see some half dollars. I am like ooooo look a there. so i get a closer peak and i see some silver! I said how can i buy that bag she says you cant. I am like what!!!!!! I said what do you do with theem take them back to fed and she is like we dont do nothing with them. It was cool and sucky at the same time. I then asked the teller if she had any rolls of half dollars and she came back empty handed oh well just thought i would share

What you should do is buy some half dollars, then take them to that machine, and cash them in. When the bag is full, they'll want to get rid of it. And look, Prince Charming is there to rescue the damsels in distress. Buy it from them then and there. That should work. And congrats on finding one of those machines. I'm still looking.

NO SUCH LUCK Corsair

I have tried to buy from the 3 state employees credit unions right across the state line where daviscfad lives.

They won't sell to anyone. I think it is DUMB. Maybe if he could talk to the bank manager he could get them to sell.

daviscfad, now you don't have to bring your zinc's to the "mini" get together

I've tried to buy bags from the SECU counters too. No dice.

Whoops, sorry again. I've never had to do anything like that, but it made sense to me. Everything would be so much simpler if one of us ran a bank, wouldn't it? Haha.

just moved up to flagstaff last week. the cu here allows $100 a day , free of charge. which is more than i do a day of pennies... but i usually do 200 in nicks . if i can get them.

i tried to get too close. 100.14 they were going to make me pay 5.00..... but let it slide as it was my first time.

second try. i took 2.00 out. and ended up with 98.40. cool.

Coin counting is serious business in Flagstaff, apparently.
