There was a huge Texas penny hoarding gathering tonight. ScottyTX and I hoisted a cold one at a local pub. He brought some IH's that needed a place in my collection which were traded for unsearched penny bank bags and a little paper money. It was a great time but short lived as the Ryedale was calling. Scotty is a real pro and I was glad to meet him. We may have to do this again. Y'all are invited.

| Sounds like a great time. Perhaps you'll do it again and extend the crowd ;-) |
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

| Aren't you guys down in Houston? We may have to try to have a small gathering next time I am down that way. |

Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Aww, I am in your neck of the woods all week this week!
Don't worry, I won't take any coppers back home with me. |

Wow, it was great meeting Tim and listening to his stories as well. Really enjoyed talking with him and trying to pick his brain a bit :) I get to check out his hoarding operations here pretty soon, so I'm really looking forward to that. He's a great guy!!

You guys should meet in Austin next time and if you do, would a non-Texan be allowed to attend? |
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

I was in Austin today and did a drive by picking up a box of pennies. I saw a guy with his own cart wheeling out I think 10 boxes of pennies. Was that anybody on here? I thought about chatting a bit, but did not want to lose my place in line. |

Hey, that's great!
Hopefully, more and more of us will be able to meet up in the near future. It's nice to be able to put a face to a name.
Enjoy. |
