$1,000.00 Halves.

Breakdown:

$501.50 - CWI box dated 8/23/2009 (5 short rolls, 6 long rolls, 1 roll long by 2 halves..net +$1.50)

(1) 40% - 66
(1) NIFC - 08P

$498.50 - CWI box dated 8/23/2009 (8 short rolls, 5 long rolls..net -$1.50)

(4) 40% - 66, (3)68D

Very, very inconsistent machine wrapped rolls. Way too many long and short rolls lately. Fortunately came out even on these two boxes. These boxes came from CWI facility #064 (no idea where that is located).

Good luck to all!!!

These minimums are killing me. Why is it only $50 minimum for a month.. but here it is only Feb 3rd and YTD minimum is $200?

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Something's funny with the February 2010 Who's Found the Most list -- I'm getting credit for a few things, but I haven't posted any half dollar finds in February yet. Not that I wouldn't mind having slickeast's monster bag, but I don't need the undeserved credit for it. :-)

Anyway, here are some actual finds for February:

$2000 halves
2 90%
71 40%
1 proof
2 quarters

Details:

Box 1:
36 Kennedy 40%: 1965(4), 1966(5), 1967(16), 1968D(5), 1969D(6)
1 Kennedy 90%: 1964D
1 proof: 1986S
1 quarter: 1974D

Box 2:
1 Kennedy 40%: 1965

Box 3:
9 Kennedy 40%: 1967(4), 1968D(2), 1969D(3)
1 Kennedy 90%: 1964
1 quarter: 2008P New Mexico

Box 4:
25 Kennedy 40%: 1965(2), 1966(3), 1967(11), 1968D(3), 1969D(6)

Wow, good hauls 12Khz and slickeast.

Here are my first Feb finds...

$1000 plain brown boxes from Brinks:

Box 1-
14 40% (1 x 1966, 5 x 1967, 6 x 1968, 2 x 1969)
3 90% (1964 JFK, 1941 Walker, 1960 Ben Franklin in excellent condition)
1 Clad Proof (1993 S)

Box 2-
4 40% (1966, 2 x 1967, 1969 S with polished background, looks like a
proof)
1 90% (1964 JFK)
2 Clad Proofs (2 x 1992 S)

In Box 2 I also found 6 Gold(en)-plated halves (1971, 1972,2 x 1977, 2 x 1979). Someone stamped the dates 1960 and 1980 on either side of JFK's head right above the "in God" and "We trust".

It's Half Time...all the time.

12kHz, I think Country hasn't fully updated the chart. He copied and pasted last months and just zeroed everything out, but left the names. Since you had the most last month, your name was still there when he posted my results.
I ordered 2 more bags for next week, I hope they are spill overs from the bag I got this week.

Went to a few banks to get halves, but only one had some:
$2.00 halves. Skunk. The 1991 one in there was horribly stained, damaged, and beat up. The teller asked if I was willing to take it, but I accepted, because at that moment, I couldn't tell if it was silver or not.

Amazing wild day for my habit.

Might not be immediately obvious...

2-Boxes halves

Box 1 (or was it box 2?)
1-1969

Box 2
1-2002P
1-2007P
1-2008D

I got a very nice one dollar silver certificate

I found 5 Ikes in the dump counter as well as a huge pile of change in US and a huge pile of Canadian

Also a lot of other currency and about a pound of tokens plus gummed up coins which I am soaking.

Included in the reject coins is a 1942 One Shilling coin, very nice.
I think this may be silver, anyone?

I just opened a box of nickels and out pops a pretty 1934 Canadian Nickel which will be posted with the rest of the box and worthy of our Foreign Legion. The pic is not the AU coin I have found

Tellers also provided me with some 75 Ikes for my pile.

I ran into many interesting and coin friendly bank employees today and it was just very sweet. Snow is coming and I called a company holiday tomorrow. We finished a big project and got the City's sign off after a month long gauntlet of pure evil crap.

I stacked up a pile of pennies for the Ryedale plus 5 boxes of nickels in anticipation of the snow.

I'm hoping it will help hold me over until next weeks halves.

I can get coins 7 days a week in these times and love driving in snow.

Life is good.

Today was a cumulative high.

Today is the day to break the skunk streak.
I've been on a skunk streak for boxes. It's been bearable bacause of how great it's been going with asking the tellers for halves.
4 boxes of halves
Box1: 0 Ag, 2 proofs 1991, 1976 (1st one of these)
Box2: 0 Ag
Box3: Skunk killer = 2 40% Ag (I was up to 20 boxes with out any silver)
Box4: 0 Ag --> the skunks return!

Also went to my firt Credit Union asking for halves. 3 coins = 0 Ag

Got my first roll of solid copper today!

Here we go guys a story to be sure lol..

I was on a break from my college classes and wanted to find a bank with halves so I went to the atm and took out 500 and went to my local source bank. Well my Girlfriend wanted to come with me and she did. I went in and she stayed out in the car. I grabed a 350 dollar bag worth of halves from teller.
I went back to her place and I said I wanted to sort(cause this year ive been skunked alot) Well this bag wasn't the greatest but I had fun.

342.5 (3 dollar short)

1 40% 1967
1 90% 1964
1 40% 1967 Near Perfect condition almost flawless Mint grade everything..Pcgs says 10-15 by my grading.

2 Foriegn Coins
1 Hungarion 100 forint
1 Mexican peso

This bag was great cause Ive only found 1 roose dime this year, so Ive been pretty skunked sorting so far.. But this bag revived me alot. Well Comes to find out, while getting ready to sort at my girlfriends house she sits down and says "I wanna look" well she finds 2 and says she really enjoyed it... I think I may have converted her to a Sort Queen. But I had a great time sorting with her, she kept yelling I FOUND ONE, I FOUND ONE!!!! And i kept saying "anything pre 70" and she said "ohh", all sad faced. It was pretty humorous watching her sort my halves. Good experience all around.

Thanks for listening, I hope you enjoyed reading
