The Shire Post Mint online store was down for almost three years, but it's finally back up! You can find it here:
You must be logged in to see this link.

Shire Post Mint is dedicated to the idea that small items in your pocket, such as coins, help us form a 'sense of place' in the world. Handling foreign coins transports us to distant lands, and handling old coins takes our imagination back in time. In like fashion, fantasy coins from fictional or mythical places can help make those fantasies more real and meaningful.

Lately we have been concentrating on making buttons. Buttonmaking and coinmaking have been inextricably linked since buttonmaker Matthew Boulton was tapped by the London Mint to design the first steam-powered coining presses. Stop by the website if you get a chance to see what's new. You must be logged in to see this link.

I wondered what happened to ya buddy. Glad to have you back. I hope all is well....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Those cabinet knobs are great. You make those too? I may have to buy a cabinet just to put some knobs on it. :)

Yes I make all that stuff. I got interested in antique coining presses and tooling. once you've got big presses sitting around it's just irresistable to SMASH stuff with them. It's just awesome what you can get metal to do if you hit it REALLY REALLY HARD. Heh heh... the "bigger hammer" syndrome. You might even notice that there is some crossover between certain coin, button, and knob designs. Some of the dies were created using the same hubs, and there is even some crossover using the exact same dies with different blanks and pushers to achieve different effects.
