Tonight I ran about 150 face and was trying to figure out to sort wheats and older from coppers. I had zinc box in front of the machine with about $15 in it and was tallking to a friend on the phone.
I looked down and thought something odd cought my eye, so I ran my hand over it and looked and saw an indian head!!
Man I thought, that was close! Jsutter gave me my first indian head with the machine I bought and I thought i dropped it in the return zinc pile. So I went to put it in my Target Coin envelope and low and behold the 1907 he gave me fell out in my palm!!
1906 Indian head found!!

| Congrats on finding your first Indian! Must be beginners luck. Now you know why I sift through all my zinc rejects by hand before dumping them in the counter. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I am still learning the sensitivity and what sample to use when. I do have the wheats coppers in the zincs but not so many.
My unit has a marker of some sort that says sens adjustment, and an arrow about 9 o'clock, i find that that spot seems to be where the zincs stop going thru the reject and back to the accept on the second run, obviously it missed!
I readjusted and ran again, but i don't understand why you set to max sensitivity then adjust till zincs are rejected and go back till most are accepted. I seem to find almost all zincs in the reject shoot with an occasional copper. |

It's a shame that there aren't very many manly men left in today's society. High testosterone seems to be the only defense to the wild Indian pathogen.
(Kurr, finding Indian Heads is a long running joke and source of amusement to several of us here on realcent. Congratulations on your find.) |
"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark
