With so many new people posting I am seeing a lot of repetitive posts.

I think an area just for polls and within it some sticky polls would be good. Also I would consider shutting off polls everywhere else.

I also think a FAQ is needed as the same questions keep coming up. I wouldn't mind taking a stab at writing the FAQ, but I would rather see it set-up as a joint effort. I don't suppose there is a wiki that we could use. Maybe wikipedia would let us make an entry for penny hoarding....I doubt it though.

I would like to hear the opinion about this from other members. Are we starting to get too many new forums on this site? How about the idea of shutting off polls on other forums? I do think the FAQ idea is a good one but do we need a new forum for it?

There are a lot of repeats here lately, but there are a lot of new people. I guess they are not reading the old posts before posting. There does seem to be a lot to look through as far as number of forums. I agree, too many polls. Polls only section would be okay with me. If horgad wants to do an FAQ, then fine with me.

Deal

I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks.

How about a FAQ and Newbie topic section? That way new members can find the information they are looking for without ending up asking the same series of questions over and over again.

As far as the number of forums is concerned, I suspect that Realcent is one of the larger forums hosted by forumco.
I tried looking up some of the other forums under forumco.com just to see what else is out there, and many of the other forums have postings that are few and far between.

Who knew hoarding pennies would attract so much attention among net surfers?

(I can't spell worth a darm somedays)

I think the number of forums is fine. A polls section would be fine with them disabled in other forums. Maybe the FAQ's could be stickies in each forum.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I see value in having repetitive polls. Comparing poll results from different times might prove enlightening.

RUNNING TOTAL
---------------------------------------
16857 zincs (1982-2008) 75.4%
5346 coppers (1959-1982) 23.9%
110 wheats (1920-1958)
50 Canadian (1959-2007)
1 dime (2004)
1 foreign (2005)

I like polls too. I feel they allow members to voice their opinions about subjects without having to post a lot. Some people just don't seem to want to post a lot but will respond to polls. If members want to start threads in each major forum concerning FAQs and answers we can make them sticky.
