I ordered some silver online and I am looking for a local place to buy. Are there any types of stores or specific places to look. I have not found any "gold and silver R us" places and was wondering if anyone had any tips on who and where to buy from.

I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks.

No "trading" stores by you? There's a place by me that is not listed as a coin shop but as a trading store that i s mostly all coins |

| Have you tried the American Numismatic Association's member directory? A lot of the dealers listed there deal in bullion, too, not just collectible coins. |

I just paid a KING'S RANSOME to get my silver out of a Kitco pool account... (Ok, everyone laugh now). Sadly, I bought in didn't know any better when I bought.
I'm wiser for it though. |

| I usually buy mine at coin shows, coin club meetings, and from local coin dealers.. no shipping fees that way. You could also place a post in the buy/Sell section of the forum and buy from other members. |

I will pimp the people right down I-5 from me, Affordable Jewelry and Precious Metals, ajpm.com - their silver prices aren't that great, but their gold bullion prices are quite good.
There's a couple of coin stores here in Seattle that are quite good. But they don't have websites. And I don't know their shipping policies. For gold, I would go with John at Seattle Coin (206-448-2646) and for silver, it's a push between John and Steve at Renton Coin (425-226-3890). (Renton Coin's gold availability is spotty.) If you're looking for a specific world base metal coin, try Crown Hill Coin & Stamp. They have one of EVERYTHING. Uff da...
Renton Coin is closer to where I work, and Seattle Coin is closer to where I live. I spend 90 percent of my waking hours at work, so I tend to go to Renton Coin more often than I go to Seattle Coin. But as far as which of those two is better? I dunno...
If you want silver rounds all of the same type, the Northwest Territorial Mint in Auburn, WA can help you with that. (nwtmint.com) But sometimes they get backed up, and you have to wait for delivery. And if you go down to the mint to pick up your order, you get hornswaggled by the owner to go feed the fishes they have in the pond. They mainly do medallions and such, and not mainly PM rounds - hence the occasional backups. But if you need some medallions made - they don't mess around...
