After my buying binge this past weekend, I'm now over the $2000 mark in the melt value of my stash (not a bad haul for less than six months), but I find it rather annoying that I have to scroll through 11 different pages and then manually add all the figures to find the total melt value. I e-mailed the webmaster of Coinflation a few days ago to suggest a page with a list of all coins and then input fields to type in the quantity of each coin (I haven't heard back from him yet), but then got to wondering if any of you might know of any other sites that have coin-melt calculators and all coin types on a single page.

We could probably set up a Google spreadsheet for it, but we'd have to manually update the spot prices ourselves.

RUNNING TOTAL
---------------------------------------
16857 zincs (1982-2008) 75.4%
5346 coppers (1959-1982) 23.9%
110 wheats (1920-1958)
50 Canadian (1959-2007)
1 dime (2004)
1 foreign (2005)

Or we could just have an input field in which we could type the daily spot price, then hit a "calculate" button to spit out the total melt values.

Anyone on here computer-savvy enough to do this?

Do you have any experience with Microsoft Office Excel or other spreadsheet software?

I could whip something up in Excel where you would just have to update the spot price. you could leave your totals for each type of coin in there and just update those as you acquire more.

You could drive yourself nuts worrying about the daily fluctuations though. The only time the price matters is when you are buying or selling and then the price is negotiated.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Those of us who are hoarding for the long haul aren't worried about daily fluctuations, HCBTT. But it is nice to see how things are progressing with our respective stashes.

That'd be really cool if you put something together in Excel. I haven't worked with Excel much, but I have a rough idea of how it operates.

Lol...sounds good. I will try to figure out how to pull up the message. If possible, I might try to find a way to upload it so that anyone can use it.

Hey CoinHunter, I just tried out the Microsoft Works spreadsheet you sent me. Works like a charm! Good job, and thanks!

Just a thought, could this be uploaded to a free file-hosting site such as www.xs.to? I have had very little experience with file-hosting sites such as that one, although there are probably a lot of places this could be hosted for the benefit of everyone else here. Let me do some digging and I'll let you guys know what I find.

OK, I don't know how long this site hosts files, but here's where you can download the spreadsheet that CoinHunter put together:
