Hi, Everyone.......I know realistically that it isn't hot enough to melt any of the few wheat cents that I have found in the past few months, but it certainly feels as if it will.

Perhaps, only this sorter will melt into a puddle or fry, bake, or broil into nothingness.

Seriously...last night I couldn't sleep and around midnight I checked out the weather stats and even at that time of night (morning???) the "feels like" temperature was still 97 degrees. Our A/C is having great difficulties trying to keep up with this wicked weather even with the thermostat set conservatively. Every time I hear it cycle on, I picture pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters.....flying off to pay the power company.

Pray for fall and cooler temperatures. The local midday news is saying that one of the local power companies is receiving permission to raise their rates, YET again!

Still a cool June for Virginia. Mostly in the low 80's. Keep that Florida heat in Florida for a little while longer.

Same story here in PA. I haven't had the AC on in more than a month. Unusual for June, but it's been great on my electric bill.

Went for a walk this morning at 6:30 AM and was sweating before I reached the end of the driveway.

I am not sure if I'd pick up a penny I found on the sidewalk to check if it was copper or not. I'd probably burn my fingers.

OK, who am I kidding. I would pick it up anyway. What's a little pain for a little copper.

Yep. Even higher sometimes. Sticky, hot heat is the worse. NO breeze....

I'm in Central Florida--smack dab in the middle of the state. Typically it isn't this hot yet. Record highs were set today for some of the towns around. Actual was about 100 degrees today. The late afternoon news was saying that the actual highest temp recorded here in Central Florida has been 102 degrees in different towns in different years. But yes, the humidity added in just makes it so much worse.

For the person near Richmond, VA are you by any chance near Williamsburg? I have family there.

For those of you experiencing cooler temps and not having to run your A/C, I so envy you right now. For the last several years each summer I have said repeatedly that if I were wealthy I would travel to wherever it was cool in the summer and then back here for the winters. I just don't do heat well anymore...I think it's an age thing.

Stay cool, everyone.

Because , although it is illegal to melt pennies, one might get away with it if the are left on the driveway to melt in the sun.

It's 95 here now, and I'm about to go for an hour walk. Oh boy. I'll just have to turn the music up louder so I don't realize how hot it is.

How nice it would be to have some relief from the blazing sun. It is 107 today here in West Texas in the shade. Not even a cloud to break the heat. Enjoy your nice cool weather!
