Most of us are willing to admit that firepower isn't the best way to handle conflict except to defend our lives or our families' lives, but as things get worse, there will be a lot of people who don't quite view things that way. But in the event we can convince enough people that getting along will be much better than brute force, what are some of the things we can do or say that will help lay the groundwork for defusing tensions and making things much more genial in our families, neighborhoods, etc.?

Here are a couple threads from GIM that made me think about worst-case scenarios...but what can we do or say to keep things from getting to this point even after TSHTF economically?
