The following is something I stumbled across detailing how the flow of coins circulate from the Federal Reserves to the banks and ultimately to the consumer.

The information provided breaks down coin production trends as well as shows by year each denomination as well as gives data concerning payment from the Federal Reserve and receipts back to the Reserve. This is a great read and a wonderful resource. Enjoy!
