Sorted 5 boxes of dimes. Good results. All with the same inspection date...Jan..same inspector. Boxes came from 3-4 different banks. Tues I will attempt to buy some more boxes BEFORE the banks get another order in.
Box 1 - 5 silver dimes ( 4 roos and 1 merc )
Box 2 - 3 silver dimes ( 3 roos )
Box 3 - 1 silver dime ( 1 roos )
Box 4 - 4 silver dimes ( 4 roos )
Box 5 - 6 silver dimes ( 5 roos and 1 merc )
I was especially happy about the mercs. I haven't been getting any of those for a while.

A Proof is a very high luster background with frosted relief, and rather low mintage struck from highly polished Proof dies.
Not Intended For Circulation (NIFC) is a regular business strike and minted in higher numbers from regular dies issued for collectors.

| Unreal day today. I picked up two boxes of halves. Did the side search on the rolls. I did not get any 90% coins, but found 45 of the 40% ones! My best guess is that solid rolls of 1967,1968 and 1969 Kennedys were dumped here or possibly a 40% silver hoard. There are many, and I mean very many, BU 2000-P in these rolls too. What a kick it was to open rolls and see all the brand new 2000's and then a silver tucked in there too. Many rolls had 2 or 3, and one or two had 4, 40%'ers in them. That is why I think solid rolls were dumped. The coins traveled together into the same sealed rolls.I found two 2004-P BU also and will proceed to undo the rolls for any more NIFC or proofs. I also have $200 in nickels to sort for tonight. |

So after looking at those figure thus far we have the following odds of finding silver;
Nickles = 1 in every 2260 coins
Dimes = 1 in every 1020 coins
Quarters = never
half dollars = 1 in every 214 coins
I guess I know where to concentrate?
Also, add my total of 1 war nickel in $60 searched. |
