| First half dollar box of the new year, and nothing. completely skunked. Not how I like to start the year off, especially after having to stop last month for a couple weeks (went out of town for a while) in the middle of a run of good luck. Hopefully that luck picks back up here shortly. |

When bank hopping today to find some clads to finish a bag to return to the bank.
$94 sorted
16 40%
5 90%
(all but 2 were in the same CWR!)
So I found I the clads I needed and some silver treats were included. Don't mind that at all
Oh, and 1 war nickel out of $204

| I found an old(?) box of halves at an out of town bank. It had no date on it and was in poor condition. Mmmmmm might this be the Holy Grail of silver searching?? I opened up the first roll and found nothing-went thru the whole box and found nothing. One interesting fact about this box is that it had no halves newer than 1992! Either this was an original 1992 box or a new one that was roughly handled. If it was a 1992 box I would think there would be at least some if not a bunch more silver in it! |

wow, a lot of people getting bad boxes now. hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come this year. I get a box a week from my main bank, and may end up throwing in the towel for a month or 2 if I keep getting skunked. Hardly worth the driving, and efforts at the counting machines, without seeing any silver output.
Though on a brighter note, I got a war nickel in my change at the post office the other day. First time I've found silver in pocket change (well, at least since I've known to look for it anyway). |
