Hi, this is The Cohen Mint, I came across this post, and I hope I'm not intruding by replying to this post.
I would like to say that I appreciate the comments being made about my products. I actually wish people would give me criticism more often, I like to hear what people really think about my business. This is something that is a real passion of mine, and I take it very seriously.
I have to agree with the comments that were made about the crudeness of some my my bars. That is something that I am actually working on right now to improve. Its very expensive to create clean looking neat bars, but I've gotten the message about the need to do that a while ago.
A few years back, I was one of only two outfits making copper bullion bars and selling them on ebay. Jetco was the other one. Together, we fed and helped to create a trend that today has become very popular, to the point where a few months ago eBay created a copper category in the bullion section. In the beginning, it was OK to have crude looking bars, there really wasnt any other choices. Nowadays, there are many outfits making bullion bars and many of them look really good. I havnt been very good at keeping up. My focus, as you can tell by visiting my website, has been gold and silver. In a few weeks I am rolling out my new line of gold and silver coins for 2009, and the preparations for that have taken up a lot of my energy and attention.
I have contracted with a die maker to produce a professional and very attractive die according to my designs for a new one ounce copper bar, to be sold at a lower cost than the other two companies making similar pieces.
The nickel bars probably wont be changing their appearance any time soon, however. They are a novelty item for some, an investment for others. Yes, they are only 20% nickel, but at this point no one else is making anything similar. And no, they are not made from melted down nickels. You guys are not the only ones who have said something about the low purity, and I am listening. I am going to make a real attempt to find a low cost supplier and make an improved bar with much higher purity, I realise the bars contain less nickel than an ordinary 5 cent piece.
Thanks very much.

| My only experience with Cohen Mint has been VERY bad. I ordered a 1 gram gold coin from them at the beginning of September. They charged my credit but two months later, still no coin. I e-mailed and called and so far no response. I have a strong suspicion I just got ripped off. |

Glad you joined!
This forum has been a big help with my business as well. It's a great group of people to bounce ideas off of.
The members here were also a factor in the addition of the Copper Bullion category on eBay:

I'm not sure why anyone would think of these bars as an investment.... They aren't. If anything these bars might make nice paper weights but at that price it might be a better idea to use your desk stapler as a paper weight/stapler 2 uses in one and without such a high price.........

| Whoever the user "CohenMint" is, he is a crook and has defrauded many people by nondelivery of goods. I can only think that he should be making good on orders, instead of posting about 20% Ni bars. |
