Each branch of BofA sets its own policies. If one branch won't accept them, just try the one down the street. They seem to be the best for me, but I have come across a few branches that won't take them in bags. Rolling is no problem though.. that Glory WS-21 really cranks them out. Rolled coins are accepted at just about all my banks. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Let me see if I understand this? If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labor; the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the US border illegally, you get a driver’s license, a social security card, welfare, food stamps, free health care!

the hardest part for me is getting a supply. my banks that are reliable also reliably skunk me. you have to hit up random banks and get a few rolls here or there. so the biggest part of the work is getting halves.
i date check. edge checking is too unreliable imho. i keep 87's and 2001+. I also keep anything under 15 million minted. 78, 86, 99, etc. those will be key dates some day.
I dump in $1000 bags at Wachovia. |

Hello- I sort halves, and ran across 60 brand new 1976 centennials. Are these worth saving? Thanks- |

Not much value for these. If some are 1976-S, they could be proofs or 40%ers which have some value. |

| I got lucky with one roll of halves--on my very first try! That really had me excited. But no luck after that. |
That's not a dollar, mate...THIS is a dollar.

I recently bought 9 rolls and one of them was all 1964's (90%) silver. 20 coins.
Whats up with the 72's w/o engravers init? Cause I found one.
In the book I have called, Strike It Rich With Pocket Change which discusses error coins, it mentions the following:
1972-D ~ No FG 1973-D ~ No F 1977-D ~ No F 1982-P ~ No FG 1983-P ~ No FG 1989-P ~ No FG

I stopped by the bank yesterday and picked up $100 worth the halves (10 rolls). I was excited that the teller seemed happy that I was buying them, and had to go to the vault to get them. Out of the 200 coins, I got a 1967 and 1969 40% silver, and a 1964 90% silver. Here is the kicker though, I found all three of these coins in the same roll. I bet some kid turned them in for cash, or a teller was planning on buying the roll and packed them together. Not a bad way to get almost 2/3rd an ounce of silver for $1.50! |
I support gun control, that's why I hold mine with both hands. |

| I'm thinking of ordering a couple boxes of halves to try sorting, and was wondering -- when ordering boxes, how do you typically pay for them? Do you bring in cash, or treat it as a withdrawal from your account, or what? |

Generally, I use the CASH I get back from my dumps. Writing out a check out to CASH and handing that to the source bank teller in which you already have an account is almost as good. |

Ah, good point. I was assuming dumps would have to be deposits since the one bank I checked with sends them out to be counted, but now I found a couple with customer operated counters so I can probably get cash.
I just placed my first order for two boxes, so we'll see how it goes. |

| Just went through two boxes from my local dump bank... one clad, one '64 out of $1000 worth. Figure I'll cycle my big checks through a round or two of halves a couple of times each month, they seem to be very happy to order them for me, so long as I don't dump the halves back there... they don't have an issue with 10,000 pennies at a time in their machine. |
