Full disclosure: Registered Democrat who disagrees with several major planks in the party's platform. Of course, I disagree with several planks in the Republicans' platform too.

Well, it was great to see Bill speak live again. The man is magic. Wish he could run again.

(It's pretty lame when the best part of a convention is when a guy who left office 8 years ago steals the show.)

I think Obama made a huge mistake by choosing Biden as his running mate. Obama's message is "change" -- yet he picks as VP candidate a guy who's been in Congress since 1973? How is that "change"? Plus, the guy's a perennial also-ran who can't deliver.

Once again, I believe that the Democrats will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Oh, I think Hillary's speech went a long way to convincing her more hysterical (in the greek sense) supporters to put their support behind Obama. One of the better speeches I've heard her give.

I wonder they they keep putting up Jimmy Carter. His' credibility is zero after the fraud, betraying Israel, and I seem to remember him being the only president in history to lose 49 states in his' reelection bid.

I didn't watch too much of the convention. Talk is cheap. I wish Colin Powell was running for President.

Didn't watch any of it. Guess I missed some "historical" event. What, the Democrats once again destroying their chances for the White House? Blah, blah, blah. Nothing new....

Deal

I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks.

Just saw a news story that in Oklahoma a tattoo artist has done about 100 Obama '08 tattoos for free. Kinda like a girlfriend/boyfriends name isn't it? That is a little extreme if you ask me. I mean really, what has Obama DONE?

Can't say I was especially impressed by how canned the convention was, but I've been saying for a long time that the Democratic Party doesn't have a platform--just being against what GWB has done isn't a platform. It's going to be interesting to see what happens now that McCain has made his pick for VP. I think Sarah Palin will give the Dems fits on a lot of fronts.

I had to listen at a team lunch today to all the democrats I work with talking about the election. All I keep hearing is Bush this and Bush that... When I mentioned that Bush wasn't running for president and John McCain was, the conversation died immediately. (True story)
Only one person there (of eight) was cheering Obummer.

Really and seriously, I could could live with SOME higher taxes if it was to pay down the debt. Running up the debt to this degree was a VERY bad thing. I cannot believe we're in the fiscal position to start new entitlement programs that history shows us cannot work! If you want to know if universal healthcare will work, just ask yourself how well medicare and medicaid work. With an aging population, and fewer contributors, social security and medicare will definitely die a painful death. I'm working at a hospital, and the talk is all about what will the medicals stop paying for next, in the context of "this is the annual decrease in benefits time". Who will support universal healthcare? There just won't be enough money to do it unless they crucify the middle class or raise taxes to 90% on the upper class or both. That ought to do wonders for the housing market in future years. We've all already got reverse mortgages, it just doesn't read that way on paper. I should hesitate to mention it, but we've killed off 47 million U.S. taxpayers since 1970. That's the number one reason why social security and the medicals are in the financial mess they're in.

And Heaven forbid, if they would stop p***ing our money away on bridges to nowhere, they could make us all wrong about the direction of the dollar. We might lose our shirts on our hoards, but we'd be able to buy our Hondas and Sonys for a fifth of what they cost now, so it would balance out. (All except for HCBTT who stands to lose 1/8 of the national debt -sorry!)

Sorry for the rant, just disgusted with politics period.

As president of Rattieland Marley is unable to vote in the election. However Marley is willing to establish a diplomatic relationship with either the Obama or McCain administration. He is however very concerned about an inexperienced Obama answering the hotline at 2:00 am.

But even more so, he is concerned about "Bomb, bomb, bomb,.. bomb, bomb, Iran." McCain getting up on the wrong side of bed any morning.

I didn't vote for GWB either time (I wrote in a vote for McCain in the general election in 2000 and held my nose and voted for Kerry in 2004), but I'm also sick of people talking about how great it will be if the Dems take back the White House...as if they have any clue what they'll do if they get it besides just be glad that they're not GWB. Remember what Obama himself said a while back: "People are saying that the Democratic Party doesn't stand for anything. That's patently false. The Democratic Party DOES stand for ANYTHING."

I'm right there with ya, FB. I don't mind paying higher taxes if I can feel assured that my tax dollars will be spent wisely. But especially during the past two years, I don't have one iota of confidence that either the House or Senate as a whole will do ANYTHING wisely. There are a lot of very good men and women in both houses of Congress, but unfortunately they are just a scant minority among 535.

ONLY when reading from a teleprompter. There are plenty of videos showing him screw up.

Democracy is being allowed to vote for the candidate you dislike least.

Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and then beat you mercilessly with experience.

An Obama nation is an abomination.

I thought the four primetime speeches by the Dem's were pretty good. McCain's VP pick is a interesting choice. I am looking forward to the Republican convention this week.

The best way to reduce the debt is not more taxes. It is growth. Taxes slow the economy and revenues.

Dems always say that thye diasgree with trickle down ecomomics, but they seem to vote for the tax rebates.

Also, If you want a look at gov rum healthcare, ask some of the soldiers that got sub standard care at Walter Reed. Or look at the waste and fraud in medicare.

I disagree with the rotting planks of both major political parties, even though they probably won't adhere to all the particular planks anyway. I am extremely disappointed in the job performance of "our employees" from both parties. I live in a winner take all state where it is already decided where the electoral votes are going to go, so who I might vote for makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. Mickey Mouse is not a valid write-in vote.

Well, back to sorting and hoarding.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
