Hey all I have been offline for a few months and had alot going on in life. I really havent been able to do much hunting at all due to things going on. I have had a few decent finds at a gas station i have been working at which I posted over in the sorting percentages thread. I hope everyone has been doing well and making many great finds.

This story actually takes place about 7 weeks ago but I could post on that day so here goes.

I helped a friend move and it was pretty much an all day thing. I didnt ask for anything or would I have accepted it if it was offered. I did notice a penny jar though and asked if I could search through it for the old stuff. even offered to pay for what i found. They said go ahead keepwhatever you want.

I looked at the outside of the jar and saw the backs of 7 wheats at a first glance needless to say I was excited. I started searching as soon as I got home. In the first third of the jar I only found about 7 wheats. When I hit the secoond third thats when the magic happened. I was pulling wheats out by the handful. Literally! The last third only netted a few more wheats.

I asked Chas if anyone in her family collected coins thinking maybe one of the kids may have dumped their collection she said no one did and even asked about. I told her I would be happy to return the coins just to let me know. No one in her household knew anything about them so I get to keep them.

The best part was when I found the Indian Head. My first and in great shape. WHo says those good deads dont pay off? lol

Anyway here are the totals of my finds. I estimated there to be about 30 dollars worth of pennies in the jar total before my search.

Copper 620
82,s 88
Canadian 10(oldest 1951)
"S" mints 3(all 1974)
Wheats 252 with about 40 or so being pre40's
Indian 1(1902)
Silver dime 1963-d(this was very tarnished and dirty so that may have been why it was in circ
1 way off center planchet misstrike
1 1954 India coin
2 coins 1927 and 1928 marked French Commerce Industries 50(I havent researched them yet to find out about them)

Heres pics sorry for the quality its the only camera I have and it doesnt have a macro setting.

Hope you enjoyed it. I sure did.

HH

Sweet finds. Glad you got to keep them. Welcome back.

Deal

I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks.

Congrats, this is how indians get into the wild. If they hadn't given them to you the probably would have ended up in a coinstar.
