Ok, you have to pay for the coins, but they are BU, sold at face, in mint rolls, and shipped on the Mint's dime. Save a few, spend a few, sell a few on ebay, whatever.
If you have a credit card that gives you cash back, points or miles you get the credit card reward free without really spending anything net.
This could also act like an interest free loan on your credit card if you time it just right. Just order these coins up, haul them down to the bank and deposit them, (or spend them) and wait to pay off the credit card a couple weeks later.
http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&categoryId=27238&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=16238&top_category=16238
Or you could spend $35.95+ shipping to buy a $25 face collector roll off the same machine. Pretty sure the only differance is the wrapping paper.
I noticed that the site suggests it will charge you $4.95 for standard shipping when you confirm the order, but when you go to pay it adjusts back to zero cost.

Apparently nobody wants $1 coins...not even the mint.
Actually this looks like a good deal. Thanks |

| I did this the last time around with John Quincy Adams, and you're right, the $4.95 S&H is confusing but they didn't charge any shipping- only cost me $250 for 10 $25 rolls. |

| I may try this, just to search the coins for errors. |

4 Presidents on offer right now, $250 box X 2 box maximum per person, good for $2k if you want to go crazy. Of course you could also have your partner or kid or whatever order too.
No one's heard of either Adams but Jefferson should be a popular coin over time because he is pretty famous.
I spotted it several weeks ago, but they were all out of stock and only listed the first Adams coin. Looks like they released 4 new varieties on Aug 11. Don't see why one could not do this over and over as long as the promo runs. If you love to spend coins it pushes them into circulation, or just deposit most of the box into the bank after you save a few coins or rolls for your collection. |

| They cancelled my order! No reason shown, but I suspect they found my Canadian credit card billing address did not match my US shipping address. Might call the Mint since that is free too. |

I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks. |

Okay I just placed my order, but take a look at what is wrong with this:
Order Process Date: 8/23/08 Merchandise : 2500.00 Freight . . . : Total . . : 2500.00 1. CIRC.$1 COIN DIRECT SHIP ROLLS-J Q ADAMS (Y01) Qty 2 @ $250.00 - Product not available. 2. JAMES MONROE $250 BOX $1 COINS (Y05) Qty 2 @ $250.00 - In stock. 3. JAMES MADISON $250 BOX $1 COINS (Y04) Qty 2 @ $250.00 - In stock. 4. JOHN ADAMS $250 BOX $1 COINS (Y02) Qty 2 @ $250.00 - In stock. 5. GEORGE WASHINGTON $250 BOX $1 COINS (Y06) Qty 2 @ $250.00 - In stock. 6. ANDREW JACKSON $250 BOX $1 COINS (Y07) Qty 2 @ $250.00 - In stock.
I checked my credit card company and they billed $2500.00, but the mint is going to send $3000.00? I wonder if they will just bill me $500.00 in the next couple of days. It doesn't make sense. |

| Correct, but I purchased 12 boxes of $250.00 worth of coin. That is $3000.00. They billed me $2500.00 and gave me the free shipping you are talking about. I hope they look at it the way you just did lol. Then I would be $500.00 richer :) |

There it is man, they are not charging you for one. Since it's out of stock. The (Y01). While they're charging you for the (Y02) I hope John Adams is John Q Adams, or I must be retarded. |

I only ordered $2000 worth, but the one in question showed up as "in Stock", But I only got charged $1500.
Did the email say "Product not Available"? Because the Online Order Receipt made no specification.
Anyway, neat program. Like you all say, free loan! Plus 1500 or 2000 free American Airline miles. Plus a week or two or three of 3.5% interest at my bank! Plus I'll go through them for obvious errors as well! |

Almost all of the computer parts Dell sends us at work (and we send back) go DHL. They don't beat the daylights out of boxes like UPS does. I've even had the USPS beat up several heavier envelopes and packages, but nothing like UPS does on a regular basis. FedEx doesn't seem to handle packages as roughly as UPS either.
On a side note, I did pass the remnants of a burnt-out DHL van on the highway a year or two ago. All that was left was the charred frame and shell. Tires and all were completely gone. Only knew it was a DHL van because of several other DHL vans that were mixed in with all the fire and rescue trucks along the shoulder. |

If I may point this out; If your credit card uses the Average daily balance method and you have a balance, paying the $xxxx up front will save you interest charges at a higher than 3.5% rate. Anyway I picked up two Washingtons to look for errors... |
